Aarti O’Varma’s journey with fashion didn’t start with
refinement—it started with an overflowing wardrobe. What
she now refers to as her minor shopping phase (some might
say obsession) eventually became a turning point. After
realising that her extensive designer collection was gathering
more dust than compliments, Aarti began lending pieces to
her friends. When they were showered with compliments in
return, she started thinking: Could this be a business idea?

The Collectives, known for vintage designer clothing, and DENHAM the Jeanmaker, the global denim brand, came together for a special show in Pre-Reserved Studio C.
The Collectives x de Bijenkorf
From 2021 to 2023, The Collectives collaborated with De Bijenkorf, one of the Netherlands’ most prestigious luxury department stores, to offer a curated selection of
